What makes canines + Felines North carolina different from other dog walking and pet sitting companies?

First and foremost, we pride ourselves on a quality versus quantity approach to pet care. We want to learn all about your pet--their habits, schedules, routines, likes, and dislikes. Essentially, they become a part of our family, too! We do our best to stay informed and educated on the particulars of various breeds, animal behavior, First Aid, and best practices for dogs and cats overall well being.  Additionally, all of our sitters are PetSaver trained and current, fully insured, and bonded.

Is the 'meet and greet' complementary?

The 'Meet and Greet' is complementary, if and only if, a client books an appointment within one week of the meet and greet. Otherwise, the fee for the 'Meet and Greet' is $25 to cover our time.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations for all appointments must be at least 48 hours ahead of a scheduled appointment with no penalty. Appointments cancelled within the 48 hour window prior to an appointment will be charged in full.

How can I make an appointment?

Appointments can be made easily through our Client Portal. You'll have to create an account, after which, you can create your client profile and begin scheduling your services. Time To Pet also has a mobile application, so you can check in to the app at anytime to change your information, use GPS tracking, receive communication from your sitter, or pay an invoice.

PLEASE NOTE: Appointments will not be accepted until after a client has had their pet's 'Meet and Greet.'

Can you take care of all of my pets?

While we primarily focus on dogs and cats (hence the name!), we are able to assist with caring for fish, birds, and small rodents. Please let us know in advance if you have other animals we will need to care for, so we can provide you with animal specific pricing. We do not care for large animals, such as horses, but are happy to provide a referral.

I have more than one dog. Is there an additional charge for more pets?

All of our services are charged at a flat rate for one dog, unless otherwise specified. Additional dogs are charged at a rate of $10 per dog for additional time needed to care for and spend time with them!

Keys are kept in a safe with unique label identifiers that do not showcase sensitive client information.

As of right now, we are able to administer oral medications, but are not trained to provide intravenous medications.

What if i have an emergency outside of normal business hours or my typical dog walking schedule?

We do our very best to accommodate all emergency situations as we understand life happens! For previous clients, we may be able to assist with last minute appointments and pet sitting depending on availability of our sitters. For new clients, we must have at least 48 hours notice for walking and sitting appointments. This gives us time to handle all the appropriate paperwork as well as coordinate a 'Meet and Greet' with the pet owner and their furbaby! Appointments or emergency bookings made within the 24 hour window will incur a $20 fee for convenience.

How can I track and monitor services or see how my pet is doing while i'm away?

All clients are able to use GPS tracking to monitor their sitter during their pet's appointment through our client application, Time to Pet. Clients may also communicate with their sitter through this app as well as receive photos and text updates while their pet is being cared for. This capabilities work both in the desktop version of our Client Portal and the app itself.

What if my property is damaged or my pet is hurt?

While we have full liability coverage and are bonded, Canines + Felines North Carolina is only liable for damage from gross negligence or misconduct on behalf of one of our dog walkers or overnight sitters. Due to the unpredictable nature of pets, we cannot accept responsibility for uncontrollable mishaps, such as: bites, furniture damage, property damage, etc.

Will my dog receive individualized attention during their appointment?

Yes, we do not provide group walks, only one-on-one walks unless you have multiple pets that live together. This gives your dog our full attention, affection, and care.

What benefits can I expect for me and my pet?

There are numerous benefits to hiring a pet sitter and/or walker, but here are just a few: improving pet health and behavior, provides pet socialization, reduces stress, anxiety, and boredom for pets, increases mental and physical stimulation, saves you time, eases worry or anxiety on behalf of the pet owner, and so much more!

How many visits a day can you provide?

Ideally, it depends on the particular pet, but for higher energy dogs, we recommend at least two half an hour walks, and for cats, one check in is perfect! Older dogs may only need one hour walk per day or one half hour walk depending on age and activity level.

Do I need to sign a contract and/or service agreement?

Yes, this helps us be the most prepared and informed when caring for your home and pet! We will not provide services without a signed service agreement.

Why is it necessary to schedule a 'Meet and Greet' before you can begin caring for my pet?

We want to meet your fur child prior to caring for them to get to know their energy level, habits, and quirks. In addition, when pet parents aren't home, a dog may be more anxious, nervous, or aggressive. This way when we come in the home, your pet is familiar with us allowing us to walk, love on, and care for them.

What are your regular business hours?

Our office hours are Monday thru Friday from 9 AM - 5 PM. We provide services, however, from 7 AM - 7 PM everyday of the week!

What time will you be walking my dog?

At this time, we offer four appointment windows: morning, mid-day, afternoon, and early evening. When you make an appointment for a selected window, your pet will be cared for during that time. The Morning time window is 7 AM - 9 AM. The Mid-Day time window is 11 AM - 1 PM. The Afternoon time window is 2 PM - 4 PM. Lastly, the Evening time window is 5 PM - 7 PM.  We strive to be the most efficient in appointment scheduling and honoring when would be most ideal for your pet.
